As a Facilities Information Technologist, you will :
• Prepare technical data, validate, analyze, format, retrieve and display existing condition CADD drawings or BIM models.
• Organize and conduct on-site assignments to collect and process spatial information for the upkeep and development of building drawings and their spatial aspects for accommodations, engineering and facilities services.
• Consult with, and provide technical advice, information and services to senior management, professionals, stakeholders, suppliers or clients in response to written and verbal requests related to the interpretation, validity or accessibility of spatial and facilities information products.
These positions are located at 1010 Somerset West, Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario
The PSPC NCA - Geomatics Facilities Technical Services group is responsible for the creation, maintenance and provision of standardized electronic drawing files (CAD/BIM) for the entire PSPC NCA inventory of crown owned and lease assets buildings. The full range of building information covers our owned asset inventory which is used for Architecture, Engineering and Property Management services, while the complete lease inventory cover architectural elements for office accommodation and leasing activities.
A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff similar positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada with various tenures. The pool can be used to staff positions in Gatineau and Ottawa with various linguistic profile and security requirement.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of an acceptable post-secondary educational program of at least 2 years with specialisation in architecture or interior design.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in the delivery of Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), Revit and AutoCAD services in the field of architecture.
Experience in providing on-site measurement services and in gathering information related to the existing building.
Experience in analysing and evaluating the quality of existing construction drawings or as-built.
Various language requirements

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in architecture or interior design.
EXPERIENCE
Experience providing ArchiBus Computer Assisted Building Management Services.
Experience in solving data problems using established techniques and procedures.
Experience in analyzing and presenting different types of spatial data.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of guidelines and standards for PSPC area measurement and BOMA.
Knowledge of the most innovative advanced technologies in the field of electronic management of information and spatial data.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Willingness and ability to travel
• Willingness and ability to work overtime
• Willingness and ability to work on or near construction sites, including wearing protective gear
• Willingness and ability to perform on-site surveys for several hours/days of walking and collecting building elements.
