The intent of this process is to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff the following positions, or similar positions, on a permanent or temporary basis at Crown Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada in Whitehorse, Yukon:
- Economic Policy Researcher – Immediate, permanent need
- Assistant Negotiator – Immediate, permanent need

Your résumé.
EDUCATION:
- Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary school program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, or a law-related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience developing and presenting briefing materials for the consideration of senior management, including, but not limited to briefing notes, presentations, etc.
- Experience in researching and helping to develop comprehensive documents such as: research reports, position papers, Memoranda to Cabinet, Treasury Board submissions, and evaluation reports.
- Experience working as part of a team to support strategic discussions or negotiations that involve indigenous, governmental, private sector, or non-governmental organizations.
- Experience building and maintaining networks to advance key issues or files.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS (Not essential, but preference may be given to candidates who possess asset qualifications).
EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working in northern or First Nation environments.
- Experience in the analysis and interpretation of statistical data.
- Experience in financial management related to programs and initiatives.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS:

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Willing and able to travel throughout the Yukon by vehicle and scheduled or charter flights.
- Willing and able to work irregular hours at times based on operational requirements.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT***
- Various security clearances*, depending on the position being staffed: Reliability, Secret, Top Secret
- Medical Clearance: The incumbent and his/her dependents** may be required to obtain Health Canada medical clearance in accordance with the Isolated Post and Government Housing Directive.
