The Wireless Network Communications Technician provides technical support and expertise in the installation, operation, support, maintenance, configuration, programming, inventory tracking, security, testing and troubleshooting of Division wireless mobile voice and data communications equipment. As well as installs, configures and supports mobile data terminals, mobile computer workstations, peripheral equipment, operating systems and software in support of the unit's mandate. The work requires lifting objects, when moving equipment from the workshop or when loading and unloading equipment from service vehicles.

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience
Experience supporting wireless mobile voice and data communication equipment
Experience in support, installation and configuration of computer workstations, software, and peripheral equipment
Experience identifying IT procurement requirements and recommending courses of action to supervisor
Experience in developing user guides or training users on the utilization and operation of new equipment
