• Please note that to be eligible for the FIN Program, applicants must be successfully screened for employment readiness by a partnering Immigrant Serving Organization (ISO) no later than April 5, 2019. • When you apply, you must have been a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen for 10 years or less counting from the date you became a permanent resident to the date you apply.
• For candidates with education earned outside Canada, assessment of foreign credentials is not a mandatory requirement for participation in the FIN Program but it is highly recommended.

• In your application, you must indicate which Immigrant Serving Organization (ISO) screened you for employment readiness for the Federal Internship for Newcomers Program.
To provide paid internships (as Casual employment*) to qualified newcomers. A pool of candidates will be created to staff positions in the above-mentioned locations in various organizations within the federal government. Appointments may also be made in the provincial and municipal sector.
*Casual Employment- contracts limited by 90 working days per federal government department, per calendar year.

EDUCATION

EX1. Experience in providing clerical support services and/or dealing with the public to provide basic information in a client service environment

The Application Process:
• All job applications must be submitted through the Public Service Resourcing System (PSRS).

• When answering the pre-screening questions, you must provide specific examples to clearly demonstrate how you meet the qualifications (education and experience, essential and asset). During the initial screening process, the Screening Board will be reviewing the applications to assess if the required qualifications have been demonstrated by candidates. Invitations to interviews will be based on the screening results.
• Receipt of applications will not be sent; only candidates successful in the screening process will be contacted.
The Assessment Process:
• It is your responsibility to ensure that, during the life of this selection process, you communicate any changes related to your e-mail address to the contact provided in this advertisement.
• You will be asked to submit your resume at the interview stage.
• A written exam may be administered in some cases.
• Assessments and interviews will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice between June and August. If you do not attend assessments at the scheduled date and time, your application might be rejected. Candidates will be given at least 48 hours’ notice of interview and must be available.
• Tests may be administered during the day or evening.
• References will be sought by employers for candidates who are successful in the process.
• Please note that travel or relocation expenses will NOT be reimbursed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or any other hiring departments/organizations.
• The Immigrant Serving Organization indicated in your application will be contacted to verify that you were screened.
• Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada's management may choose one or more Asset Qualifications at the pre-screening stage to determine the number of applicants who will advance to the following stage of the selection process.
The Hiring Process:
• Please note that even if you qualify to be placed in a pool, there is no guarantee that you will be offered a position. The number and types of positions available in a given Program year are subject to the demand of partnering organizations.
• If successful, your application may be shared within IRCC and may be shared with other hiring Federal Government departments, agencies and crown corporations, and other participating provincial and municipal sector organizations for potential employment opportunities.
• This selection process will be used by various departments, agencies and organizations. Please note the positions being advertised for St-John's (NF) and Halifax (NS) are not for IRCC.
Required Documents:
• You may have to provide proof of your educational credentials.
• You will be asked to provide your proof of permanent residency or Citizenship.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
