Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff a full time permanent position. A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis, on a casual basis, at full or part time hours) in the North district.

Education:
Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
1. *Recent experience in supervising a team of employees
2. Experience with a performance evaluation system.
3. *Recent experience in coordinating and analyzing data, preparing reports, and making recommendations to senior management.
4. *Recent experience working in a unionized environment and applying collective agreements
5. *Recent experience in providing support to managers
6. Experience in electronic and hard copy records management procedures.
7. *Recent experience in the use of Microsoft Excel and MS Word software.

*“Recent” means experience obtained over approximately the last 2 years.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
1. Successful completion of a Human Resource Management Program from a recognized Post-Secondary Institution.
2. Experience relating to administrative records management and operational systems, such as PRIME, JUSTIN, CPIC, PIRS, OSR, HRMIS.
3. Experience in the use of a Financial data base ( ie TEAM)
4. Experience in following RCMP Security Screening policies and procedures.
5. Experience in transcribing from audio recordings, in English.
6. Experience in Exhibit handling processes.
7. Experience in processing Access to Information requests.
8. Experience in managing construction and renovation projects including on-site supervision of contractors.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
• Availability, willingness and ability to work overtime as required.

Depending on the requirements of the position(s) being staffed from this process, for current or future vacancies, any or all of the asset qualifications and organizational needs may be applied at the time of staffing. Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.

Practical and/or standardized tests may be administered for screening and/or assessment purposes.

Random selection may be used to identify which applicants will be assessed or appointed in this appointment process.
