Work environment

This position is located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff a full-time permanent position in Surrey, BC

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a permanent, temporary or casual basis, at full or part time hours) in Surrey, BC. Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:
Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.

Experience:
Recent and significant experience* in providing nursing services.

Experience dealing with internal and external clients.

*Recent and significant experience refers to the performance of duties on a continuous basis over a period of approximately 3 years within approximately the last 5 years.

Experience:
Experience in providing nursing services in one of the following areas: occupational health, disability case management or rehabilitative services.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness and ability to work overtime when required.

Holds and maintains an active license to practice nursing from the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia.

Pass marks will be established for each qualification. However, achieving the pass mark is not a guarantee of an appointment or that candidates will be put through the next stages of the assessment process.
