Intent of the process

The intent of this appointment process is to fill one immediate vacancy and to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates that may be used to staff identical or similar
positions of various tenures and various locations in PSPC.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized postsecondary institution with acceptable specialization in land survey theory and practice or another Geomatics related field.

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:
A member in good standing, or be eligible for membership as a Professional Ontario Land Surveyor in the Cadastral discipline or another discipline as recognized by the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors

Experience:
Significant* experience in legal surveying at a professional** level
Experience using Geomatics type software such as CADD and computational software.
Experience in delivering Geomatics products and services
Experience in integrated control surveys
Experience in Geomatics Project Management
Experience in the supervision of Geomatics project management

*Significant is defined as the depth of breadth of experience normally associated with performing legal surveying on a regular basis over approximately a 3 year period.

**Professional level is defined as work experience gained after having received a Land Survey accreditation.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Occupational Certification:
An active member of the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors (ACLS).

Member of a Geomatics organization such as: Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG), The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA), Geospatial
Information & Technology Association (GITA) or similar organization for more than 2 years.

Experience:
Experience in participating in Geomatics Committees or as part of an executive body of a Geomatics organization or other organization
Experience in Hydrography
Experience in Geographic Information Management

Operational Requirements:
Able and willing to travel on occasion
Possession of a valid driver’s license or personal mobility to the extent normally associated with the possession of a driver’s license

Knowledge of the professional land survey disciplines recognized by the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors (AOLS)
Knowledge of Provincial (Ontario) laws (i.e. legislation, case law) pertaining to legal surveying
Knowledge of modern geospatial technologies found within Geomatics
Knowledge of project management
