A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions at the PM-03 group and level with various linguistic requirements and/or profiles and/or tenures within Natural Resources Canada.

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

Degree equivalency

Experience in supporting consultations or engagement activities with Aboriginal groups and/or organizations or with federal, provincial or territorial government officials.
Experience in monitoring and assessing consultations or engagement activities related to Aboriginal groups and/or organizations.
Experience in developing complex documentation involving engagement protocols and procedures.
Experience in preparing briefings, reports or analyses on engagement issues.

Knowledge of the consultation or engagement development process.
Knowledge of current social and economic related issues affecting Aboriginal peoples and northern communities.
Knowledge of Treasury Board Secretariat policies and guidelines pertaining to program evaluation and performance measurement.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Ability to research and synthesize information and develop recommendations to senior management*.
*Senior Management is defined as Director-level and above.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in economics, political science, social science, public administration, indigenous studies, geology, science or some other degree relevant to the position or a combination of training and acceptable experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience working with northern communities and northern institutions.
Experience working with other federal departments or central agencies and/or external stakeholders (including academia, think tanks, provincial, territorial or municipal governments).
Experience in participating in teams and/or interdepartmental and/or intradepartmental committees.

Conditions of employment
