Information on employment equity

Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their responses that they meet the essential education and experience qualifications. It is NOT sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Rather you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN, and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples. Information on your described skills, experience, etc. provided in the screening questions should be supported by your resume. Failure
to provide sufficient information will result in the candidate being screened out and
rejected from the process.

Management has opted to use the screening questions and answers accompanied by the resume as the evaluation method for the screening process. Failure to provide this information in the requested fields may result in your application being rejected.

Volume management tools may be utilized.

Personal suitability will be assessed from the time of application.

Please note that the COMMUNICATION competency will be evaluated throughout this selection process.

Candidates must meet all of the essential qualifications noted in the Statement of Merit Criteria to be appointed to a position. A candidate may be appointed to a position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications or operational requirements. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

Depending on the requirements of the position(s) being staffed from this process, for current or future vacancies, any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements, and organizational needs may be applied at the time of staffing. Candidates may be contacted and assessed against these criteria at any time during this process. It is the candidates' responsibility to demonstrate clearly on their application that they meet the asset qualifications.

Successful candidate(s) must meet and maintain the Conditions of Employment throughout their employment.

Selection process 2019-PEN-EA-PRA-151576 will be used to staff vacancies in Saskatoon (Saskatchewan) only.

CSC is currently in the process of advertising CR-04 processes for multiple locations in the Prairie Region. Those who apply on multiple processes will be assessed once and the results will be applied to all processes.

Please note that if you have previously participated in a CR-04 selection process, your results cannot be applied to the current inventory.

NOTE: For this selection process, our intention is to communicate with applicants by e-mail for screening/assessment purposes (including issuing screening results, and sending invitations for written tests and interviews).

Applicants who apply to this selection process must include in their application a valid e-mail address and make sure this address is functional at all times and accepts messages from unknown users.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar casual, temporary and/or permanent positions.

The Correctional Service of Canada is dedicated to supporting inclusive, barrier-free selection processes for all candidates. At any time during a selection process, candidates may request an accommodation to facilitate their assessment in a fair and equitable manner. Information received relating to accommodation measures will be addressed confidentially. Please visit https://www.canada.ca/en/public servicecommission/
jobs/services/gc-jobs/information-candidates/accommodations.html for additional information on accommodation in a selection process. Alternatively, you may direct any specific enquiries to the departmental contact identified on this advertisement.

When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.

An inventory advertisement allows a continuous intake of applications, over as long a period as desired. Once a candidate has submitted their application it will stay active in the inventory (assuming it meets the essential screening criteria) for 180 days. At the end of that period, candidates will need to refresh their application to ensure it stays active in the inventory. 60 days prior to the end of the 180 day period, candidates will receive a notice to their applicant profile instructing them that their application will expire unless it is refreshed. Candidates are also able to withdraw their application from the inventory anytime they desire.

If you are found unsuccessful during any point of the process your application will not be considered again until 180 days has elapsed from the date of your elimination notification.
