As a global leader in aeromedical regulation, the Civil Aviation Medicine branch provides physicians with an intellectually stimulating team-based setting to apply a broad range of clinical, occupational, and aviation medicine principles to regulatory decision making.
Primary duties focus on the assessment and approval of aviation medical certificates, which includes interacting with applicants, Civil Aviation Medical Examiners, and other Civil Aviation Medicine staff. The Civil Aviation Medicine branch supports continuing medical education in aviation medicine, with additional selected opportunities to participate in policy-making and research.
The Civil Aviation Medicine branch headquarters are located in beautiful downtown Ottawa:

• Steps from Parliament Hill, the Ottawa river and the Rideau Canal (largest outdoor skating rink in the world)
• Convenient access to Gatineau/Hull area
The results of this process will initially be used to staff two positions indeterminately. A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions on an indeterminate, assignment, deployment, secondment or acting basis and with the following language requirements: English Essential, Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC within Transport Canada in the National Capital Region.

Education:
ED :Graduation with a degree from a recognized School of Medicine.
Occupational Certification:
OC: Valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in a province or territory of Canada.
Experience:
EX1 :Five (5) years of experience of independent Medical Practice, of which 3 years are clinical medical practice.
Education:
AED : Post graduate certification or equivalency in Aviation Medicine or diploma or residency in Aerospace Medicine or Occupational Medicine
Asset Experience:
AEX1 : Working medical experience in the field of Aviation Medicine for example: Civil Aviation Medical Examiner (CAME) or Flight Surgeon.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
