EDUCATION:
PhD (or one nearing completion – must be complete prior to appointment) or its equivalent from a recognized university in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related disciplines.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada.

EXPERIENCE:
Acceptable teaching experience in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related disciplines; or an acceptable combination of teaching experience and industrial experience in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related disciplines.
A strong or promising record of publication.
Acceptable expertise either in the area of autonomous vehicles or in the area of embedded systems.

ABILITIES:
*Ability to teach effectively at the university level.
Ability to carry out independent research.

* For bilingual positions, you must be able to teach effectively at the university level in both official languages.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Reliability Status security clearance
The application for a professional engineer license in Canada, and/or registration as an engineer in training (EIT), is required within the first two years of employment. The candidate then needs to obtain and maintain a professional engineer license in Canada.
