Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this poster is to fill one (1) position.

This process will be used to create a pool of qualified candidates for similar positions with various tenures (term, indeterminate, acting appointment) within Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada and Indigenous Services Canada. Should the selected candidate already be a public servant, the pool could also be used for acting appointments.

EDUCATION
Applicants must be a graduate of a two-year Mechanical engineering technology/technician program.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Recent* experience in providing mechanical expertise related to the construction or renovation of commercial buildings.
Recent* experience as a key participant on multi-disciplinary teams for projects related to the construction or renovation of commercial buildings.

*Recent is defined as experience acquired within the last 4 years.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

ASSET OCCUPATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Professional designation as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), Certified Engineering Technician (C.Tech), Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS), or Project Management Professional (PMP).

ASSET EXPERIENCE
Experience in working with First Nations.

ASSET KNOWLEDGE
Discipline expertise in project management related to commercial building renovation/construction.

Willing and able to work on construction sites where there is a requirement to crawl into tight and confined spaces, climb ladders and scaffolding, and walk over unfinished or uneven surfaces
Willingness and ability to travel frequently, which may include inclement weather and remote locations, throughout the four Atlantic provinces.
