Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one permanent full time position.

A pool of candidates may be established inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM); and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP on an indeterminate or specified period (including deployment, term, or assignment/secondment) basis, with various tenures, various security profiles and various language requirements.

Should a Civilian Member be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

Education:
Graduation with a Doctor of Medicine degree from a recognized school of medicine.

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:
Eligibility for a license to practice medicine in a province or territory of Canada.

Experience:
Experience in practicing and delivering general medical care or occupational health services.

However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.

Practical and/or standardized tests may be administered for screening and/or assessment purposes.

Random selection may be used to identify which applicants will be assessed or appointed in this appointment process.
