The ORMS Unit provides training and support to all RCMP units in K Division (Alberta) along with several municipal police forces on how to use the database where operational records are stored. You will be responsible for facilitating classroom learning on the RCMP's operational records management system. When not instructing courses you will be responsible for providing support to our clients as well as conducting data quality reviews. You will be working in a team, however, the position will appeal to anybody who is self-motivated and enjoys taking on new challenges. If you have an attention to detail, enjoy providing advice to clients and have a passion for working in an adult-learning environment, then this is the job for you.
This is an anticipatory staffing process designed to create a pool of qualified candidates. The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff future permanent and/or temporary vacancies in Edmonton within the RCMP.
Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.
The pool could be used to offer acting appointments, assignments, secondments or deployments.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience*
Recent* and significant** experience working with the Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS).
Experience in providing advice, support and recommendations to clients.
*Recent is having the experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex related activities for a minimum of one year continuously.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing
PROS Information Management Certification
Experience working in a police detachment setting.
Experience delivering training and presentations (individual or group).

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Occasional overtime.
Reliability Status security clearance - NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.
Travel by various modes of transportation, including commercial and light aircraft.
Valid driver’s license.
Occasional overnight travel is required.
Willing and able to deliver classroom training.
