Intent of the process

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in forestry, natural resource management, relevant biological or physical science, or engineering.

Degree equivalency

Experience with application of forest ecosystem dynamics models or forest estate planning models.
Experience with database manipulation and database queries.
Experience with spatial analysis, spatial data, and spatial analysis tools.

Information on language requirements

Knowledge of forest sector greenhouse gas reporting methods and requirements under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Knowledge of methods to estimate GHG emissions and removals associated with forest management activities, natural disturbances and wood use.
Knowledge of Quality Assurance / Quality Control procedures for scientific and computer analyses.

Ability to analyze and interpret output of scientific computer simulation models.
Ability to communicate orally.
Ability to communicate in writing.
Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
Ability to organize work and establish priorities to meet deadlines.

Post-graduate degree in forestry, natural resource management, relevant biological or physical science, or engineering.

Degree equivalency

Experience with application of harvested wood product models.
Experience with programming languages R, python or SQL.

Knowledge of forest carbon cycle science approaches.
Knowledge of computer resources and memory management

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - This factor is not used at the screening stage. The hiring department is responsible for the security clearance process.

Travel – short duration travel is periodically required (e.g., typically 3-5 days).
