The successful candidate will work through teleworking in order to:
• Develop and extend a set of core research skills in transportation economics through applicable coursework.
• Conduct research in transportation economics as it relates to regulatory policies.
• Conduct research on market structure in the rail industry.
• Develop appropriate coding and analytic skills requisite to the completion of the transportation research tasks

EDUCATION:
Currently eligible to enroll in a Master’s or Ph.D. program at University of Saskatchewan, in the field of agricultural and resource economics or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in computational simulation or laboratory research as related to economic experiments, as applied to a field closely related to logistics, freight or agricultural transportation*.
* The experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.

EDUCATION:
Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics or Economics from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in applied science (i.e. Engineering).

Knowledge of statistics.
Knowledge of logistics and transportation policy.
Knowledge of information sources or contacts for problem-solving in an economic research and analysis environment.

Ability to perform statistical analysis and interpret analysis results.
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to program using software such as STATA, MATLAB, GAMS, CPLEX, Stella or Ztree.
