The Financial Operations, Systems and Policy group is looking for a Finance Specialist, CR-05. This position is responsible for providing financial services, advice and guidance to Regional/National Office management and staff. Activities include analysing and processing financial transactions, including commitments, accounts payables, employee expense claims, accounts receivables (revenues) and all correcting journal entries.
The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates.The pool may be used to staff positions on various tenure at the Parole Board of Canada and at the Treasory Board of Canada Secretariat.

EDUCATION:
- Successful completion of secondary diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in the provision of accounting services within an organization such as the payment of invoices, billing, preparing or reconciling bank deposits, processing travel claims or performing account verification.

KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of sections 32,33,34 and 41 of the Financial Administration Act (FAA).
- Knowledge of procedures pertaining to accounts payable or receivables.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
- Successful completion of a two years postsecondary program with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration or public administration, commerce or economics.
EXPERIENCE:
- Recent* experience in creating, recommending or processing travel expense claims.
- Recent* experience in processing accounts payable or accounts receivables.
- Recent* experience in providing advice on the application of financial policies and directives.
- Experience in using the Share Travel Services Portal (STS).
- Experience in the use of computerized departmental financial systems (such as GX, SAP
or IFMS).
- Experience within an accounting services unit in the Federal Government environment.
- Experience in the research and processing of journal vouchers.
*Recent experience means experience acquired within the last two (2) years.
OPERATIONAL REQUIEREMENT:
- Willingness and ability to work overtime.
