Duties

The position is responsible for:
a. Processing crime scene fingerprints for searches against the national database.
b. Providing information to national and international law enforcement agencies.
c. Verifying all applicable electronic fingerprint submissions for searching and adding to the national database.
d. Training and mentoring new employees.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one (1) Civilian Member (CM) position on an full-time basis, with a linguistic profile of English Essential and an RCMP Enhanced Reliability security clearance

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in E Division (British Columbia), with various RCMP security clearances.

EX1: Some experience working in a police environment as an examiner in fingerprint verification and identification.

2: Demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

The candidate will be required to successfully complete the following requirements:
1. Successful completion of the Fingerprint Physical Comparison Test.

The candidate must have successfully completed within the first six months of employment:
- Successful completion of the Fingerprint Technicians Course (BM4510).
