Candidates must clearly demonstrate in the experience questionnaire how they meet the education and experience criteria listed as essential and asset qualifications on the statement of merit criteria. In order to do so, they must write one or two paragraphs for each demonstrating how they meet them with concrete examples. The assessment board cannot make any assumptions about your experience. Note that it is not sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Resumes may be used as a secondary source to validate the experience described in the experience questionnaire. Failure to clearly demonstrate in the questionnaire how you meet the education and experience, both essential and asset, where applicable, may result in the rejection of your application.
The ability to communicate effectively in writing may be assessed using the answers to the screening questions.

The intent of this process is to immediately staff one indeterminate position.
A pool of qualified or partially assessed candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various linguistic profiles, security requirements, conditions of employment as well as various tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Library and Archives Canada.

EDUCATION:
Two years of post-secondary or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in providing analysis, advice and recommendations on complex issues.
Experience in developing and preparing strategic business or operational planning activities.
Experience in planning within a department.
Experience in supervising staff, or leading a team in the workplace.
Experience in analyzing and summarizing documents or in preparing briefing materials and reports.
ASSET EDUCATION
Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
The term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities.
ASSET EXPERIENCE
Experience writing reports or publications for varied audiences.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the Government of Canada's accountability framework including the Management Accountability Framework (MAF) and the Program Activity Architecture (PAA).
Knowledge of Library and Archives Canada (LAC) legislation and business lines and of LAC priorities and mandate.
Knowledge of the planning process.
ABILITIES
Ability to represent the Directorate in dealings with directors general, project teams and internal committees working groups.
Ability to analyze situation, identify issues, and provide advice and recommendations to working groups and senior management.
Ability to organize, prioritize and carry out multiple tasks.
