Note for Stream 1 (Inspector of Explosives Trainee SG-SRE-03):
Inspector of Explosives Trainee (SG-SRE-03) will go through an established training and mentoring framework for a period of up to two years. Promotion to the SG-SRE-04 level will occur when the SG-SRE-03 employee meets all essential qualifications and conditions of employment.

Stream 1
• •Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in engineering, chemistry or some other specialty related to the position. Applications will be accepted if applicants are currently enrolled at a recognized post-secondary institution, in a degree program, graduating in the spring of 2019; however, candidates must meet the education requirements in order to be appointed to a position.
Stream 2
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in engineering, chemistry or some other specialty related to the position.
All streams
• Experience reviewing and developing technical or scientific reports.
• Recent* experience** liaising with the public or industry.
* Recent experience is within the past three years. **Minimum of one year experience
Stream 2
• Minimum two years of experience in the manufacture, regulatory or logistical management, technical analysis, or use of explosives, or similar experience in the chemicals or food processing industry.
