Work environment

Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) has an interesting and unique mandate by playing a role in supporting services and programs in communities such as health, education, economic development, housing, community infrastructure and social support. In the context of reconciliation, ISC supports Aboriginal peoples (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) in their efforts to improve social well-being and economic prosperity to the benefit of all Canadians.

**Percy E. Moore Hospital serves the immediate area of Hodgson, Manitoba including the residents of Peguis, Fisher River and Kinonjeoshtegon First Nations as well as the Rural Municipality of Fisher. Hodgson is located in the Manitoba Interlake approximately 2 hours north of Winnipeg and is accessible by paved road.

Intent of the process

The intent is to staff this position via the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program, which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation within the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. As such, Organizational Needs may be applied and first consideration may be given to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples.

Organizational Needs:
In alignment with the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program (APEP), in support of strategically increasing Aboriginal representation in areas having the most impact on program delivery and health outcomes of FNIHB’s target population, selection may/will be limited to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal Peoples.
