Correctional Service Canada is looking for a supervisor with excellent skills to supervise and direct the planning and supervision of works associated with building maintenance (preventive and corrective).The supervisor will be responsible for managing the various installations to ensure the penitentiary complex is self-sufficient at all times (e.g. generator and security system, drinking and waste water, etc.). He/she will also be responsible for a team of approximately 10 to 15 employees from various trades, such as carpenters, painters, electricians, plumbers, etc. We are looking for someone who is dynamic, resourceful and an excellent leader who likes to face challenges every day. A pool of candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions of permanent or temporary tenures within the Correctional Service of Canada in the Quebec region.

Education
A secondary school diploma or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience
Three (3) years of experience in the labour market in one or more fields related to the duties of the position.
Experience* supervising the delivery of maintenance services for an infrastructure or equipment in a large facility.**
Experience* supervising employees.
Experience managing projects in the building industry.
* “Experience” refers to the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with performance of the duties for a period of approximately one (1) year.
** “Large facility” is defined as a building and grounds which are similar in size to a correctional institution, hospital, airport, shopping mall, college campus or large company.
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in any field related to the duties of the position.
Successful completion of an apprenticeship and certification program in a field related to the duties of the position.
Experience working in the field of correctional infrastructure.
Experience working on infrastructure projects within a federal government department.
