Provide guidance on the financial administration of a variety of AAFC programs.
Provide accurate reporting, analysis, forecasting and accounts payable/receivable services to clients.
Supervises two employees.
The advertised positions fall within the Integrated Services Management group in the Corporate Management Branch for the Department of Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada. The Corporate Management Branch (CMB) helps the Department achieve strategic outcomes and priorities while exercising sound stewardship of its resources. This ensures the Department can meet operational requirements and deliver quality programs and services to Canadians. These positions are part of the group that provides integrated administrative and facilities management services in support of Departmental operations for Science and Technology Branch sites.
Immediate need: To staff one (1) indeterminate full-time position for the location indicated for this process.
A pool of qualified and partially qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures.
Please note that this pool of qualified candidates may also be used to staff similar positions at this group and level in various locations within Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process, he/she may be considered for acting, deployment, assignment or secondment opportunities.

Successful completion of a diploma or degree from a recognized post secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Experience working in MS Outlook, MSWord, and MSExcel.
Experience in providing administrative services such as but not limited to preparing correspondence, reports, or documents; providing information; maintaining electronic or hard copy records; or filing, processing mail, or reception.
Experience in providing support and guidance to clients (which include managers, employees and external clientele) in Finance.
Experience working with an electronic information management system such as but not limited to Peoplesoft, SAP, etc.
Successful completion of post-secondary classes in accounting
Experience inputting and extracting information from an Integrated Financial system.
Experience supervising staff.
Experience providing administrative services in Finance.
Experience generating financial reports in SAP in the Government of Canada.
Experience using SAP in the Government of Canada.
Experience in developing and modifying spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel at an *intermediate level.
Experience procuring goods and services for clients.
Experience in providing support and guidance to clients (which include managers, employees and external clientele) in Procurement.
Experience providing financial services including accounts payable.
*Intermediate is defined such as using If(), Sum(), Average() functions or creating pivot tables.
