This process will initially be used to staff one position on an indeterminate basis.Qualified pools of candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a term and/or permanent basis in Eastern Alberta District within the RCMP.
The pool could be used to offer acting appointments, assignments, secondments or deployments.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*
* Proof of education will be required prior to appointment
Experience in the provision of administrative support services including three of the following: data entry, preparing correspondence, ordering office supplies, filing, or processing mail.
Experience in using computer applications including two of the following: databases, email, or word processing.
Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
Experience working in a law enforcement and/or legal environment
Experience in maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS) or Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC).
Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material
Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft and up to and including remote locations).

Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) security clearance - NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.
