In the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) of Indigenous Services Canada, we strive to provide access to quality health services, improve health outcomes, and support greater control of the health system by First Nations and Inuit.
We are searching for collaborative and strategic individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic and energetic environment, with a strong focus on quality client service. We are currently looking to staff various positions of the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch's Program and Administrative Services Group that provide program and support services. These positions will be primarily involved in the planning, development, delivery or management of administrative and federal government policies, programs, services or other activities directed to the public. By joining our team, you will have opportunity to provide direct support to health services and community-based programming. You will
build and support strong working relationships with First Nations and Inuit communities, families, and
individuals, with a focus on improving health outcomes and reducing health risks. Our offices are located across Canada in various locations.
This process will be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates which may be used to staff positions in various locations, with various linguistic profiles, for various tenures such as indeterminate, term, secondment, assignment, deployment or acting appointments.
The intent is also to staff positions via the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program (APEP), which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation within the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB). As such, Organizational Needs may be applied and first consideration may be given to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal Peoples.

A diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to the position OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Bachelor’s degree or higher studies from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to the position.
1. Significant experience* overseeing the delivery of services to a client group.
2. Experience in conducting meetings or information sessions.
3. Experience preparing written documents such as proposals, briefing notes or business plans.
4. Experience in budget management (i.e. management of program funding, expenditures,
program allocations or forecasting).
5. Experience in monitoring contracts, grants, contribution agreements, or funding

6. Experience with community and/or capacity development practices.
7. Experience in adjudicating Non-Insured Health Benefits.
8. Experience in working with HICPS (Health Information Claims Systems), or MTRS or Omnisoft

10. Experience delivering front line customer service.
*High volume call centre means 40 to 50 of calls per day
ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS
In alignment with the APEP in support of strategically increasing Aboriginal representation in areas having the most impact on program delivery and health outcomes of First Nations Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) target population, selection may be limited to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples. Before being appointed to a position, Aboriginal candidates must complete the Affirmation of Aboriginal Affiliation Form (AAAF).
