Immediate need: 2 full time temporary positions (duration of 1 year).

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used for similar permanent and temporary employment.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Experience in field operations such as preparing soil, seeding, application of farm chemicals, irrigation and harvesting a diversity of crops.
Experience operating common farm machinery such as tractors, plows and disc harrows, seeders and harvesters.
Experience maintaining, making minor repairs, and calibrating specialized farm machinery such as seeders, sprayers and irrigation systems.

Ability to recognize problems with irrigation equipment.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Ability and willingness to work overtime including evenings and weekends.
Ability and willingness to work in harsh environments (outdoors, hot, cold, dust and noise) with limited exposures to farm chemicals.
Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required by the duties to be performed.
Known allergies must be controlled through the use of personal protective equipment and/or medication and must not impinge upon the duties to be performed.
Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding work including moderate to heavy manual labour requiring bending and lifting heavy objects (up to 20kg).
Ability and willingness to work in variable weather conditions.
