While that sounds ominous, our Manitoba office is a tightly knit team comprising of about 40 amazing individuals with a ‘can do’ attitude, all working to deliver economic development programs in the most nimble, paperless, efficient manner. As a Senior Business Officer, you could play an integral role in projects shaping the future of Manitoba, all while affecting the lives of Manitobans. This is an anticipatory process that will be used to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill future vacancies with various tenures.

Your résumé.
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a degree in business administration, commerce, economics, law, or a recognized professional accounting designation.
Experience in evaluating economic development or related project proposals, or applications for funding or business plans.
Experience in reviewing financial statements or other financial analysis to evaluate the financial sustainability of organizations.
Experience in negotiating project agreements and monitoring progress against agreements throughout the lifecycle of a project.
Experience in developing and sustaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance economic development initiatives or projects.
Experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management including the preparation of briefing notes.
Experience in commercial banking or financial consulting.
Experience in managing accounts receivables.
Experience in assessing the viability of business operations, including those focused on technology commercialization, productivity improvements or business scale-up activities.
Depth, breadth and/or scope in any one or more of the essential experience factors.

Knowledge of key factors influencing the Canadian economy and of the current economic and business trends, opportunities and challenges in Manitoba; and
Knowlegde of Canada’s priorities and initiatives to support cluster growth and economic inclusiveness.
