The assessment of candidates should take place in four (4) phases:

Phase 1 – Analytical and Problem Solving Exercise (APSE)

We will assess Problem solving (Essential Qualification) via an Analytical and Problem Solving Exercise (APSE). This test will be administered electronically by a third-party test administrator (EPSI). The evaluation will take place in March.

Phase 2 – Situational Judgement Test for Professional (SJT-PRO)

We will assess the following competencies via a Situational Judgement Test (SJT-PRO): Working Effectively with Others, Initiative and Action Oriented, and Thinking Things Through (Essential Qualifications). This test will be administered electronically by a third-party test administrator, (EPSI). The evaluation will take place in March

Phase 3- References. The evaluation will take place in April.

Phase 4- Written test. The evaluation will take place in April.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions within Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).

This process is launched to staff two types of PM-03 positions.

Position #1: Program Advisor, Content Management

Works within the Integrated Content Management unit to create, manage and update the content of the knowledge repositories used by the 1 800 O-Canada service, Customized Information Services and Service Canada Centres to provide the public with information on Government of Canada (GC) programs and services. This position is ideal for someone who wants experience in content management; it provides an opportunity to learn about GC programs and services and about service delivery to the public.

Position #2: Program Advisor, Editing

Provides editing, translation and other linguistic services to the Integrated Content Management (ICM) unit. Works closely with content management specialists to ensure that all written material produced by the ICM unit is of appropriate linguistic quality, clear and equivalent in both official languages. This position is ideal for someone who wants experience in editing and linguistic services; it provides an opportunity to learn about Government of Canada writing and editing practices and standards.

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination* of education, training and/or experience

* An acceptable combination could be a few years of post-secondary education and editing experience.

STREAM 2 (CONTENT MANAGEMENT)

Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination** of education, training and/or experience.

** An acceptable combination could be a few years of secondary school and experience in the field of communications.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Operational requirements may vary depending on the position to be staffed.

• Willingness and ability to adjust daily work schedule.
• Candidates residing outside of the National Capital Region (NCR) will have to relocate to the NCR if they are selected for a position, because they will not be able to telework.

Candidates must meet all the essential criteria in order to be appointed.

What is a top-down selection? It is where only the top scoring candidates will be invited to the next stage of the assessment.
