The position consists of:
• Plan and manage construction projects and related budgets.
• Act as a technical advisor.
• Provide advice and make recommendations to management on technical issues related to the area of activity.
• Perform in-depth analysis of engineering reports and act as an knowledgeable client.

The project management currently has an unspecified ENG-03 position. A pool of qualified candidates could be created for similar positions with various durations (temporary, permanent) and various locations at Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region. If it turns out that the chosen candidate is a public servant, we could also use this pool for acting appointments.

EDUCATION
Graduation from a recognized university in a field related to the duties of the position, such as mechanical engineering or building engineering.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Hold a certification as a professional engineer in Canada.
EXPERIENCE
Recent and significant experience * in managing mechanical construction projects in accordance with Canadian standards and codes.
Experience in writing technical reports.
Experience in providing technical advices to managers or supervisors, as well as clients such as working groups, committees, etc.
* Recent and significant experience means at least five (5) years of experience in the last seven (7) years.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

Work experience for the Government of Canada.
Reliability Status security clearance
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Hold a valid driver's license in the province of Quebec.
Be willing and able to work overtime on short notice as required.
Be willing and able to travel using a variety of modes of transportation, including, but not limited to, automobiles, boats, aircraft, helicopters, snowmobiles, and ATVs in order to travel to remote locations throughout the Quebec region, as needed.
Be prepared and able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment during site visits throughout the Quebec region as required.
