Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff five (5) positions on an indeterminate basis, with linguistic profiles of English Essential and Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB, and an RCMP Top Secret security clearance

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION :
Successful completion of two (2) years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE :
• *Experience writing Structured Query Language (SQL) scripts.
• *Experience in working with conceptual, logical, physical or dimensional data models.
• *Experience performing database administrator type-activities, such as; backup, recovery, tuning, troubleshooting, or monitoring of a database

Definitions:
*Experience is defined as experience gained with performing the duties on a full-time basis for a minimum period of one (1) year.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in IBM Infosphere suite of tools
• Experience in the usage of Business Intelligence tools
• Experience in ETL development
• Experience in the use of ErWin or IBM Data Architect
• Experience in Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience in Oracle RDBMS on Linux x86 or zLinux
• Experience in DB2 on z/OS
• Experience in automating processes using scripting languages
• Experience in the installation and configuration of database server software

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice.
• Willingness and ability to carry pager on rotational basis.
• Willingness and ability to change work schedule to meet deadlines.

Top Secret security clearance - RCMP Top Secret Security Clearance.
