Work environment

This position is located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is for a full time permanent position.

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis, on a casual basis, at full or part time hours) in Chilliwack, BC. Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Essential Qualifications
Education:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
*Extensive experience in material management including receiving stock, shipping, storage and inventory control in a warehouse environment.

Experience in utilizing software programs related to inventory control. i.e. TEAM (SAP)

Experience in operating warehouse handling equipment such as fork lift and pallet jack

**Recent experience operating a computer in a windows environment using software such as: MS Word, EXCEL etc.

**Recent experience in supervising employees.

*”Extensive experience”: means the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired over a period of approximately 1 year.
**”Recent experience”: means experience obtained over approximately the last 2 years.

ORGANIZATION NEEDS:

Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

Practical and/or standardized tests may be administered for screening and/or assessment purposes.

Random selection may be used to identify which applicants will be assessed or appointed in this appointment process.

Pass marks will be established for each qualification. However, achieving the pass mark is not a guarantee of an appointment or that candidates will be put through the next stages of the assessment process.
