Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be created following this process, and may be used to staff similar equivalent or lower level positions for indeterminate appointments, term appointments, acting appointments, casual, deployments, assignments and secondments.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION

A secondary school diploma or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience controlling an inventory.

Experience supervising workers

Experience* and/or training in the operations, repair and/or maintenance of building architectural/structural components (such as heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems normally associated with Building Operator Maintainer A or certification as a 4th Class Stationary Engineer, and complimentary experience in the maintenance of small buildings)

*Minimum 1 year experience in the last 3 years.

EDUCATION

Graduation from a recognized college (2 years minimum) in a related field.

Post Secondary - Certificate program associated with Building and/or Facility system maintenance or acceptable equivalent.

Applicable Provincial certification required to perform the duties of the position.

Certification in a relevant trade.

Possession of valid Fall Protection Certification.

Possession of valid Confined Space Certification.

Possession of valid WHMIS Certification.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience working in a correctional environment.

Experience in the use of hydraulic press brakes, sheet metal sheers and welding equipment.

Experience* operating powered lift equipment with up to 7,000-pound capacity.

*Minimum of 1 year experience in the last 3 years.
