1. To prepare biological samples as required by the experiment;
2. To assess or develop software, tools and/or pipelines (or tool chains) to analyze large wheat genetics datasets;
3. To perform data analyses of large wheat data sets to validate biological hypotheses;
4. To summarize and interpret results in the format of scientific manuscript(s) to be published in recognized peer-reviewed journal(s);
5. To write reports of research and to present the research findings at workshops, field days and scientific meetings;
Office (computer), laboratory (equipment, chemicals & UV), field, greenhouses and growth cabinets. The student is expected (1) to analyze data using various computer software and to develop pipelines for such analysis, (2) to grow and care for plants indoor and outdoor, (3) to sample plant tissues and harvest seeds and (4) to process these samples in the lab applying various methodologies.

Enrolled or eligible to enroll in the PhD program in Biology at the University of Ottawa.
Experience in analyzing next generation sequencing data and in the preparation of tables and figures for the production of scientific manuscripts.
