Please note that the Defence Team members in the National Capital Region (NCR) have begun to relocate to the new National Defence Headquarters - Carling Campus in Ottawa’s West-end. This organization, ADM(IE), will be part of phase 2 which is scheduled to move in July 2019. The Campus is a great new home with many benefits, from a beautiful setting and buildings designed to make maximum use of natural elements, to a full range of facilities, services and retail outlets. The design features of the Campus will enhance collaboration, innovation and efficiency, making our new home an ideal place for current and future employees.
We are looking for new team members who are strategic and analytical thinkers; organized; motivated; possess strong initiative; are action orientated; have strong written and verbal communication skills; and work well collaborating within a larger team on multiple files. It would be an asset to have knowledge of real property and/or environmental management.
The intent of this selection process is to indeterminately staff approximately 15 EC-04 positions. A pool of fully and/or partially qualified candidates could be established to staff similar positions within the National Defence.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Note: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
Experience conducting research and analysis on policies, programs or legislation.
Experience providing advice and recommendations on policies, programs or legislation to senior management.
Experience writing briefing notes and reports and/or policy papers.
Experience in establishing collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Master’s Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice, on occasion.

The Assessment Committee reserves the right to contact references other than the ones submitted by the applicants, if found necessary, in order to make a suitable assessment of the applicants.
All the information collected during the selection process including behaviour and communication, from the time of application until the end of the selection process, will be used to assess the applicants.
Applicants might be required to provide performance assessments for the last two (2) fiscal years.
