Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of English Essential and an RCMP Enhanced Reliability security clearance.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Should have experience in at least two (2) of the following:
• Experience in design, development, implementation, integration or maintenance of software applications.
• Experience in testing and quality assurance activities.
• Experience in the provision of applications support services
• Experience in analyzing, defining and documenting client requirements.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
• *Recent experience in systems analysis and design
• *Recent experience in client support of IT systems
• *Recent experience in developing code using one or more of the following: COBOL, Assembler or CICS
• *Recent experience using SPUFI, JCL or ISPF
• *Recent experience in developing code using Java
• *Recent experience in developing code using languages such as; C# or C++
• *Recent experience with databases administration

*Recent is defined as experience gained within the last five (5) years. Recent experience may have been gained through employment, FSWEP and/or Co-Op Programs, volunteer work, or an acceptable combination.

Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status security clearance.
