Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of English Essential and an RCMP Secret security clearance.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Should a Public Service (PS) employee be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• *Recent and significant experience in the development of standards, best practices, or policies.
• *Recent and significant experience with data provisioning or data analysis tools in support of Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or Data provisioning initiatives.
• *Recent and significant experience gathering and documenting Business Requirements.
• *Recent and significant experience providing technical advice and guidance to technical and non-technical resources.
• *Recent and significant experience in the design, testing, implementation and maintenance of data or analytics solutions.
• *Recent and significant experience using one (1) or more of the following corporately scalable database products: Oracle, DB2, SQL Server.

Definition:
* Recent and significant is defined as the depth and breadth of the experience normally acquired with having performed a broad range of complex related duties, gained within the last five (5) years.
