Assessment accommodation

Intent of the process

Depending on the needs of the organization, candidates will be randomly selected from the inventory for assessment purposes. A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions within the Department of National Defence with various tenures in various locations, with various security clearance levels and/or various linguistic profiles.

Education:
Successful completion of secondary school and/or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
E1. Recent* experience in supervising a team of at least three (3) subordinates.
E2. Recent* and significant** experience working in a warehouse environment that includes receipts, issues and warehousing.
E3. Recent* experience in using computer software applications such as Outlook, Excel or Word.
E4. Recent* experience using Systems Application Products (SAP) / Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) Materiel Management (MM) software.

*Recent refers to experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
**Significant refers to experience acquired for a continuous period of a minimum of three (3) years.

Operational Requirements

The following operational requirements may apply, depending on the position to be filled:

-Willing and able to work in a warehouse environment.
-Willing and able to work in confined spaces, climb ladders and on elevated devices.
-Willing and able to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
-Willing and able to work overtime as pre-authorized.
-Willing and able to work from heights.
-Willing and able to lift 23kg in accordance with safe work practices.
-Willing and able ability to obtain/retain a DND 404.
-Willing and able to obtain and retain a Materiel Handling Equipment (MHE) Certificate.
-Willing and able to operate MHE in confined areas, and at elevations of three metres above floor level.
-May be required to obtain a Hazardous Materiel certification such as Control of Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Materiel Packaging courses.
-Willing and able to travel for employer requested training.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Must be able to wear Canadian Standard Association (CSA) approved safety footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Must be in Possession of a valid (unrestricted and non-Graduated) provincial or territorial driver's license.
