Duties

Here are examples of the key activities linked to this position:
- Maintains a control system for technical documents and regulatory publications for the regional Civil Aviation Technical Reference Centre.
- Provides technical reference and information services to Civil Aviation personnel.
- Reviews and verifies the contents of manufacturers’ technical manuals, regulatory documents and other publications essential to Civil Aviation personnel, and maintains their current publication status.
- Maintains the circulation system for the Technical Reference Centre material within the Region, and for inter-library loans.
- Acquires and distributes documents to Civil Aviation personnel
- Provides budgetary information and makes recommendations to the Regional Manager, Standards Coordination on expenditures.
- Contributes as a member of the Standards Coordination Division through continuous liaison with the regional operational groups and functional authorities (Standards Branch, Management Services Branch, Policy and Regulatory Services Branch) to promote the flow of communications, data and information exchanges.

Intent of the process

The results of this process will initially be used to staff this position indeterminately. A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions on an indeterminate, term, assignment, secondment or acting basis within Transport Canada in Moncton (New Brunswick).

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
- Experience in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience in providing client service.
- Experience in maintaining and organizing information in databases and hardcopies.
