We are seeking several research biologists with experience in plant breeding, agronomy, plant physiology, plant biochemistry, plant genetics/genomics, plant pathology or plant molecular biology to work at the Brandon Research and Development Centre.
The successful candidates will work closely with a scientist(s) on plant breeding projects examining insect and disease resistance, abiotic stress, genetics, epigenetics, and genomics in cereal crops and/or in model plant systems.

Immediate need: To staff one (1) full-time permanent Research Biologist – Plant Biology in Brandon, MB.
Anticipatory: A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a permanent full-time or part-time basis or on a temporary full-time or part-time basis for the location indicated for this process.

Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in a plant science or in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

Experience in wheat breeding.
Experience in plant science related to biotic stress (insect and disease resistance).
Experience in plant biochemistry or physiology related to abiotic stress.
Experience in the application of molecular marker systems for plant genetic analyses.
Experience in supervision of technical support staff and/or students.
Experience providing technical support and leading projects in a research or laboratory environment.
