Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) is looking for Senior Business Officers (Payments) to join our team. This process is anticipatory and will be used to staff various potential future opportunities such as assignments, secondments, acting and indeterminate appointments in our Vancouver regional office.

Recent* and significant** experience:
• Reviewing financial statements or other financial analysis to evaluate financial sustainability of organizations;
• Negotiating and monitoring agreements involving external parties.
• Developing and sustaining collaborative working relationships with clients, or partners or stakeholders.
• Providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management.
*Recent is defined as relevant experience gained within the past three years.
**Significant is defined as relevant experience normally acquired through the full time performance of duties for at least two years.

Knowledge:
• interpreting financial statements and providing related advice, including analysis and assessment
• assessment of financial strength and viability of a for-profit or not-for-profit organization in relation to a funding application or business plan

• Communication (Oral and Written)
Conditions of Employment:

• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Willingness to work overtime on occasion as required.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in Commerce, Finance, Business, Public Administration, or related field.
Experience:
• Depth, breadth and scope of experience in any one or combination of the experience factors used in screening.
• Working with external stakeholders in the financial administration of an agreement between two parties
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of economic development and diversification issues in Western Canada
