When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.
We are accepting applications until May 25, 2019 to create an inventory of qualified candidates. However, you should apply now! Applications will be pulled as positions are identified for staffing.
Should the inventory be extended, the retest period for re-assessment within the context of this selection process is 180 calendar days from the date of elimination at either the prescreening, the written exam, interview, or reference stage of the process. If, after having been eliminated, you resubmit an application to this process, before the retest period has elapsed, your application will not be considered.
The inventory will be updated every 45 days. The second pull and review of applications will be done on April 17, 2019.
HOW TO APPLY:
You will be required to demonstrate how you meet the education and each of the experience criteria listed in the essential qualifications and any of the applicable asset qualifications on the Statement of Merit Criteria for the initial screening by answering the online screening questions. Please be sure to include substantiating details that clearly outline the breadth of experience as well as relevant timelines.
Failure to clearly demonstrate how you meet the screening criteria (Education, Experience, Essential and Asset (if applicable) may result in the rejection of your application. Candidates will not be solicited for incomplete or missing information.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: OVERSEEING CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS BY...
- Supporting the identification of the design standards applicable to new and changed aeronautical products, and the approval of the applicant means of compliance to these standards
- Working with industry engineers, and Transport Canada Delegates, throughout the phases of certification
- Preparing for and attending certification and technical reviews, witnessing certification tests, in Canada and abroad
- Coordinating with all areas of expertise involved in the certification of aeronautical products
- Interacting with foreign certification authorities
- Validating foreign aeronautical products
Our office is located at 159 Cleopatra Drive, Nepean.
The results of this inventory will initially be used to staff two (2) positions indeterminately.
A pool of candidates will be established to staff positions on an indeterminate basis and to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles and/or requirement (English or Bilingual Imperative BBB), with various tenures (term, indeterminate) and/or the security clearance (reliability or secret), which may vary according to the position being staffed at Transport Canada. EDUCATION
ED : Graduation with a bachelor degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
OR
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
OC: Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position.
EXPERIENCE
EX1 : Significant* experience in the design, development or certification of aircraft avionics systems.
*Significant: Candidate has performed complex activities related to this task in a wide variety of situations (at least 7 years of experience).
EXPERIENCE
AEX1: Experience as a design approval delegate carrying out aircraft certification activities.
AEX2: Experience in flight testing of avionics systems on airplanes or helicopters.
