Please be advised this process will be used to staff nursing positions in the areas of Communicable Disease Control, Primary Care and Home and Community Care in the new department of Indigenous Services Canada. The creation of Indigenous Services Canada is an important development in our renewed relationship with Indigenous peoples. These structural changes will allow the government to work more effectively with Indigenous partners to provide services that improve people’s day-to-day quality of life. Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this poster is to fill up to two (2) positions.

A pool of qualified or partially assessed candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements (English Essential or Bilingual Imperative), various security requirements, various conditions of employment as well as various tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada and Indigenous Services Canada.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.

EXPERIENCE
Significant* experience providing direct primary care or public health services

Experience providing advice or recommendations to management on health issues.

Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams on health issues.

*Significant is defined as a period of two (2) years of full time work or equivalent.

EDUCATION

Experience providing direct health care services to Indigenous populations

Experience providing direct health services to Northern or remote communities.

Experience working in a home-care, continuing care or long-term care setting.

Experience participating in the development and implementation of community mobilization strategies.

Experience participating in the development or implementation of public health programs.

Experience working in communicable disease control

Experience participating in working groups or committees.

Experience participating in the development or adaptation of evidence-based clinical guidance.
