When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.
Based on the hiring division's needs, additional essential qualifications, asset qualifications, organizational needs, operational requirements and/or conditions of employment may be identified and applied during the assessment and/or selection of candidates.
The inventory will be updated once every six months. You will receive a notice in your applicant account 15 days before the end of your active period to determine whether or not you wish to keep being considered for an additional six months.
This inventory is targeted to Aboriginal persons who will self-declare as an Aboriginal person. An Aboriginal person is a North American Indian or a member of a First Nation, Métis or Inuit. North American Indians or members of a First Nation include treaty, status or registered Indians, as well as on-status and non-registered Indians. The Aboriginal affiliation will be verified at the time of the appointment.

This process aims to create and maintain an inventory of Aboriginal persons for casual, indeterminate or term appointment within Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada and Indigenous Services Canada.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization in social policy or social work, education, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience defined as a minimum of 5 years work experience, at or near the current level (PM05) which includes specific training related to the field of social policy, social work and k-12 education, including special education or post-secondary education.
Since this is an inventory, you do not have to meet all the criteria you will find below. Hiring managers will make their random selection by selecting criteria required for their positions being staffed.
PM-04 and PM-05 EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in collaborating in planning processes.
• Experience working with First Nation, Inuit and/or Metis communities.
PM-05 EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations to management on program issues.
• Experience in networking and consulting with various internal or external stakeholders.
PM-04 EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in providing advice and recommendations to stakeholders on program issues.
• Experience in developing briefing and reporting material in support of policies and programs.
PM-04 and PM-05 KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of Indigenous or northern issues.
• Knowledge of project management principles.
ABILITIES:

PM-04 and PM-05:
• Significant and recent* experience interpreting and implementing Child and Family Services policy, program guidelines and legislation. *Significant and recent is defined by a minimum of 2 years of experience within the last 5 years.
• Experience in providing advice and recommendations to management and staff through correspondence, briefing, and/or reports in support of policy, program, project and/or issue management.
PM-05:
• Experience in partnership development.
• Willing and able to work overtime as required.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
• Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
