Depending upon the position being staffed:

Possession of a valid Alberta or Inter-Provincial Journeyman’s Certificate as an Automotive Service Technician.

OR

Possession of a valid Alberta or Interprovincial Journeyman Proficiency Certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanics (HET).

OR

An acceptable combination of training, education and experience related to the position of an Automotive Service Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician (HET).
(An acceptable combination may include certificate of Military Achievement Qualification Level 5 / DP2)

Depending upon the position being staffed:

Recent* experience working as a mechanic in the repair and maintenance of commercial automotive or heavy duty equipment.
*Recent experience is defined as “experience acquired within the last 3 years”.

OR

Recent* experience working as a mechanic in the repair and maintenance of military vehicles including Leopard FoV.
*Recent experience is defined as “experience acquired within the last 3 years”.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Possession of a valid vehicle airbrakes operator’s qualification.

Experience using basic computer skills.
Experience using SAP programs, such as DRMIS or FMAS.
Experience working on Military pattern vehicles and heavy duty equipment.
Experience using diagnostic tooling.

Willing and able to work overtime as pre-authorized.
Willing and able to work standby or call-back, may be called in for emergency repairs.

Willing and able to work from heights.
Willing and able to wear CSA approved safety footwear and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
Willing and able to lift up to 20kgs in accordance with safe work practices.

Depending upon the position being staffed one or more of the following may be required:

Possession of a valid (unrestricted and non-graduated) Canadian provincial or territorial driver's license.
Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
Shift work may be required.
