The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers, offering over 70 different types of civilian career opportunities. DND's role is to provide services and support to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in their operations and missions at home and abroad. This process will be used to staff one indeterminate position. Meanwhile, a pool of candidates will be established and may be used to staff positions for determinate or indeterminate periods in Defence National Departement.

Studies
A successful completion of a Technical College Diploma (DEC) or in the process of obtaining it in the end of June 2019 in electronics or an equivalent post-secondary diplomat from recognized Canadian College or University.
Experience
Experience in using, maintaining and calibrating of electronic instruments or components used in command and control systems or in measuring systems as well as in assembling of connectors.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant experience in signal acquisition and data processing.
Relevant work experience in experimental trials
Relevant experience in operating network equipment using TCPIP protocol.
Relevant experience using continuous wave (CW) Doppler radar.
Relevant experience in the functioning of automatic measuring chains.
Relevant experience in command and control systems.
Relevant experience in high-seed video imaging.
Various language requirements
French essential, bilingual B - - / B - - and B – B/ B - B
Information on language requirements
Knowledge
Knowledge of analogical and numerical electronic principles applied to the field of measurements.
Knowledge of sensor functioning in the fields of measurement such as: pressure, acceleration and force as well as signal processing and conversion.
Knowledge in mathematics such as: algebra and trigonometry.
Ability
Ability to use diagnostic and measurement instruments such as: oscilloscope, analog to digital converter, signal conditioner, frequency generator and electronic sensors.
Ability to make electronic setup and solve technical problems.
Ability to interpret analog and digital data collected with the use of varied electronic measuring systems and devices.
Ability to interpret and understand technical information and data (English and French) applied to the fields of expertise.

Operational requirements:
Successfully pass the examination to obtain a National Defence driver’s licence (DND 404).

Hold a Class 5 provincial driver’s licence.
