Intent of the process

ANTICIPATORY PROCESS - A pool of fully qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada at the AS-04 group and level with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various linguistic requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (i.e. Reliability, Secret, Top Secret), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES:
Experience in developing and/or implementing security-related policies and procedures.
Experience in preparing correspondence, preparing and presenting briefings and reports to a wide variety of audiences.
Experience in providing administrative services and advice to senior managers on complex issues pertaining to physical security safeguards, security plans, and risk assessments.
Experience in preparing, developing and/or implementing administrative services including the development and/or implementation of security-related policies and procedures.
Experience in administering a physical security program, including database management and security system interfacing.
Experience in developing and delivering training surrounding technical competencies such as security system troubleshooting and implementation.
Experience in contributing to team projects by working collaboratively.

KNOWLEDGES:
Knowledge of the organizational structure, mandate, programs, operation, and/or reporting relationships of the Division and/or the Sector.
Knowledge of legislation related to specific duties of the position, such as the Policy on Government Security, Directive on Departmental Security Management and Operational Security Standard on Physical Security.
Knowledge of central agencies and departmental administrative policies and directives, such as the RCMP physical security guides, as well as best practices, including trends and developments outside of the department.
Knowledge of the practices of physical security program administration, including database management, security system interfacing, planning and development, strategic development, and project management.
