Intent of the process

This process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates which may be used to staff positions various tenures such as indeterminate, term and casual positions within the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, Indigenous Services Canada, Quebec Region. Should the selected candidate already be a public servant, the pool could also be used for acting appointments.

The intent is also to staff positions via the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program (APEP), which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation within the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB). As such, Organizational Needs may be applied and first consideration may be given to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal Peoples.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or acceptable combination of education, training and / or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
CR-04 and AS-01

1. Relevant experience in client service tasks, either in person, over the phone or by email.
2. Relevant experience in general administrative support tasks*.

* General office tasks, such as word processing, photocopying, filing and data entry.

AS-01 only

1. Experience in providing administrative services to management. **

** Though not an exhaustive list, this experience may include the following activities: managing an electronic calendar in support of a superior; processing business travel requests; monitoring a budget; processing correspondence; coordinating administrative activities; writing and reviewing reports; organizing meeting or conference logistics; etc.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants who have one or more of the following qualifications are invited to mention them in their application since they may be an asset.

EDUCATION:

Diploma of Collegial Studies in Office Technology.
Diploma of Collegial Studies in Accounting and Management Techniques.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

1. Relevant experience in tasks related to human resources;
2. Experience performing tasks related to financial information or documents (e.g. budget tracking, forecasting, acquisition card reconciliation, petty cash management);
3. Relevant experience in services for Aboriginal people;
4. Relevant experience supporting construction projects.

Candidates MAY also be required to meet ONE OR MORE of the following qualifications, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed (Essential or Asset).
