The intent of this appointment process is to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates. The immediate use of the pool will be to staff one (1) indeterminate position in Toronto. However, the results of this process may be used to staff similar or identical positions for future vacancies of various tenures within Public Services and Procurement Canada.

Your résumé.
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Civil Engineering.
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
Significant* and recent **experience in the provision of engineering services, including inspections, design and construction of marine structures***.
Significant* and recent** experience developing construction tender documents (specifications and design drawings) for new or rehabilitation of marine structures***.
*Significant is defined as the complexity and diversity of work which would normally be acquired over a period of approximately 8 years where the candidate performed the role of structural engineer, providing professional services to support the phases of design, construction, and inspection of marine structures.
** Recent is defined as within the six years immediately prior to the closing date of this job opportunity advertisement.
*** Marine structures include canal walls, concrete dams and navigational locks.
Experience in condition assessment and design repairs of historic masonry structures.
Experience in structural assessment of larger timber components of marine structures.

Knowledge of dam structural engineering approaches for rehabilitation of marine structures.
Knowledge of geotechnical engineering applicable to marine structures.
Knowledge of hydraulics related to dam engineering.
