The student must be willing to start the work term in January, 2019. It is expected the student will work 20 hours per week. The duration of this work term is for 36 months and will end December 30, 2021.
$18.91 to $23.78 per hour (Varies as per the level of education and experience.)

Duties

The MSc student will participate in the planning of experiments to answer research hypothesis. S/he will be responsible for executing the study including wide variety of activities (growing canola plants in hydroponic setup, collecting leaf tissue sampling for nutrient analysis and associating the results with growth physiology) along with writing scientific manuscripts. The student will present the findings at a national conference/meeting.

Work environment

The work environment at the University of British Columbia is predominantly research based and graduate student will be taking mandatory courses recommended by the thesis committee. All the greenhouse studies performed in Vancouver. However, field work will be done in Saskatoon and the student will have to travel.

Currently enrolled or eligible to enroll in a Master's program at the University of British Columbia for Winter Term 2019.

Degree equivalency

Experience growing plants either in greenhouse or outdoors.
Experience in plant science/plant physiology.
