Intent of the process

Intent to fill 4 indeterminate positions. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar term and/or permanent positions.

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics.

* For this process only, “Specialization” is defined as a component of your degree the successful completion of four (4) accounting/or four (4) finance courses at the university level.*

Degree equivalency

Experience in analyzing financial procedures/processes

Experience with SAP (or variations, such as Oracle or Freebalance)

Experience within the public and/or private sector in at least one (1) of the following areas:
Financial planning, reporting and variance analysis;
Costing;
Providing financial advice and guidance to clients;
Developing or maintaining financial systems

Knowledge of general accounting principles

Knowledge of financial and managerial accounting

Ability to analyze financial data and provide recommendations to clients and senior management

Ability to prioritize and manage workflow (from a variety of streams and sources)

Ability to solve problems

Ability to communicate effectively in writing

Ability to communicate effectively orally

A recognized professional accounting designation , i.e. CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

Degree equivalency

Experience within the public and/or private sector in developing or maintaining Internal Control systems (financial), or financial auditing, or financial quality assurance.

Experience with PeopleSoft

Experience with Financial Management

Experience with internal control practices

Experience with database software (such as Microsoft Access) including database maintenance, database design, and the use of advanced functions and VBA.

-Depth, breadth, type of work-specific experience;

Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board.
